It was founded in 1995 by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia (The Ministry of Education and Sports, The Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs); its co-founders were the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Chamber of Crafts and Entrepreneurship of Slovenia. It is responsible for linking social partners, and provides support in developmental, research, implementing and systemic processes that contribute to the quality of vocational education and training for the citizens of Slovenia in the context of lifelong learning.

AGENCY FOR VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING AND ADULT EDUCATION

The Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (ASOO) is a public institution, founded in June 2010 by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. It is a key stakeholder in the field of VET and Adult Education in Croatia. It is in charge for planning, developing, organising, implementing, monitoring and improvement of vocational education and adult education. Accordingly, the Agency is responsible for teacher training in vocational education and adult education, VET qualifications and curricula development, student skills competitions, self-evaluation and external evaluation. In addition, the Agency serves as an intermediary body for ESF and works in preparing and implementing programs and projects financed or co-financed from EU funds and other international funds. It conducts training and professional development of employees in the field of vocational education and adult education, as well as continuously working on quality assurance and improvement in the system of vocational education and adult education. The Agency cooperates with all relevant stakeholders in VET and AE in Croatia.

The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK) is a national intermediary organisation of tradesmen and craftsmen which promotes the interests and work of its members (80,000 SMEs) at all territorial levels. The Chamber is involved in crafts licensing for apprenticeship training provision and organisation of master craftsman exam. Furthermore, it is responsible for daily coordination with and advising of SMEs, holding extensive expertise in project management, organisation of training and educational activities, incl. collaboration with all VET stakeholders.

IDEC

IDEC is a training consulting company located in Piraeus, Greece. Its activities consist of training, management consulting, quality assurance, evaluation and development of ICT solutions for both private and public sector. IDEC has been active the last 20 years in the field of EU projects. It has long experience in European policies regarding lifelong learning and in particular EQF, ECVET, Europass, EQAVET, validation of non-formal and informal learning and in national reforms of education and training systems. The last 18 years IDEC is dealing with the theme of quality assurance and improvement of VET and has coordinated the projects QMS, EQUAL, BEQUAL and QUADRAT in this subject and has participated in several others. BEQUAL, a Development of Innovation project that IDEC coordinated during 2008-2010 has developed a Benchmarking tool for quality assurance at VET providers level. BEQUAL tool and portal have been sustainable and expanded since then and now, BEQUAL is available in 15 European languages and is being used by more than 600 institutions.

The European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB) is a European umbrella association whose members are (state) associations, coordinating institutes of education, educational providers and higher education institutions at a national, regional and local level. Currently there are more than 60 educational institutions from 20 European countries and from Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Tunisia organized in the EVBB. There is a total staff of more than 35,000 working in the EVBB member associations at more than 1,500 educational centres. The objective work done by the EVBB is the qualitative improvement of vocational education and training in European countries and an increase in the efforts being carried out in education at a European level. This is pursued through a close cooperation with other Vocational Training Providers within our network as well as lobbying with the different EU institutions (in particular GD Employment, Education & Culture as well as CEDEFOP).
